NSF CAREER Workshop

Learn about the NSF CAREER program from the vantage of an NSF program officer and an awardee. As a UK faculty member in Chemical and Materials Engineering, Christina Payne received an NSF CAREER award in 2016 to develop a molecular-level understanding of the mechanisms by which glycoside hydrolases catalyze the breakdown of biomass into sugars. Her CAREER award included international collaboration and a robust education plan. Dr. Payne has worked in the NSF CBET division since 2017.

Workshop topics will include CAREER guidelines and eligibility, proposal preparation tips, recommendations for integrating research, education and outreach, and the review process.
