Summer Sustainability Research Opportunities - Deadline Feb. 26

The Office of Undergraduate Research in partnership with UK’s Student Sustainability Council is offering TWO exciting Summer Sustainability Research opportunities for undergraduate students!

1.      Summer Sustainability Research $2,500 grant program will support student involvement in research opportunities by funding several summer research fellowships.  Students will spend 8-9 weeks pursuing independent scholarly research on a sustainability-related issue.

2.      NEW! Summer ISRE: Intercollegiate Sustainability Research Experience Fellowships (similar to REU) at Clemson University and Louisiana State University. Students receive a $4,500 stipend and work under the mentorship of a scientist or team at the designated university.

Sustainability research at the University of Kentucky addresses the integration of cultural, economic, environmental, and energy components and supports projects and perspectives that have positive impacts on future resources, ecosystem health, and human wellbeing.

Conducting research during the summer can be a transformative experience for undergraduate students, as you put your skills to the test in labs, in the fields, in library collections, in art studios, and on the stage. Students are encouraged to apply for multiple summer research opportunities, including each of the ISRE opportunities and regular Summer Sustainability Research Grant.
