Eastern Unconventional Oil & Gas Symposium

The Kentucky Geological Survey and Center for Applied Energy Research at the University of Kentucky are joining together to host the Second Biennial Eastern Unconventional Oil & Gas Symposium to be held May 7-8, 2018. EUOGS targets a broad range of upstream and downstream issues related to energy production from emerging resources. Successful development of unconventional oil and gas resources relies on expertise from a number of disciplines, regulatory frameworks, and environmental topics including:

  • Upstream: leasing, horizontal drilling, fracture stimulation, regulations, water issues, induced seismicity, geology, and related topics
  • Midstream: compression, processing, pipelines, and similar issues
  • Downstream: regulated utilities, natural gas vehicles, sustainability, petrochemicals, environmental impacts, and other focus areas

Submitted Abstracts (1 to 2 pages) are due JANUARY 26, 2018. - Call for Papers Instructions

The meeting is planned to open with a plenary session on Monday, May 7 with technical sessions on Monday afternoon and Tuesday, May 8
